After I attended the MOT+50 at the Job Centre in February 2024, we were made aware of the transferable skills we might have. So I thought it would make so much sense to improve my transferrable skills and I realised that I needed to learn more about Digital Skills. So I asked my work coach if they could help me find a course and they sent me to Train2Work Academy Centre.
I was unemployed and thinking of career change but I needed a transitional job. So I have registered with a Nanny agency.
When I came to the Train2Work Academy Centre, the Centre looked simple but I did not expect the professionalism and the care I have received from the Centre. The Centre is a breeding ground for success.
At the centre, there is a nice atmosphere, very welcoming. The tutors are patient and attentive. I know that if I don’t know something I can ask and don’t feel afraid or shy. We aren’t just a number but they really value each one of us personally.
During the course, I developed my confidence and my IT skills bit by bit. I did advanced features of Office Applications which gave me the confidence to look for a job as an office admin assistant. Because I did not have previous office admin experience, I was not successful in finding office admin work.
Luckily, when I was about to finish the course, I had a review with my tutor – Mustafa Muse. We discussed my plan after the course. I mentioned that I would like to have an office work experience. Luckily, my tutor has offered me a work placement at Train2Work Academy Centre. I am now doing two days of office work experience.
Also, I have applied for sales assistant with Oliver Bonas which I have been successful. Now I am working, doing work experience and hopefully, I will find my dream job as an Office Administrator within the next six months.
