English for speakers of other languages aims at helping to improve the reading, writing, and oral communication of people who speak English as a second language from entry level to Level 2 and to progress to further courses or into work.

Free if you are:

ESOL for British Citizenship

If you wish to apply for British Citizenship or Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), you need to demonstrate your knowledge of life in the United Kingdom as well as proving that your English speaking and listening skills are adequate to cope with the challenges of everyday life.

From 28 October 2013, there will be two parts to the Knowledge of Language and Life in the UK requirement, both of which must be met by all applicants for settlement and naturalization unless the individual is exempt. From this date applicants will be required to:

pass the Life in the UK test

AND

have a speaking and listening qualification in English at B1 CEFR or higher, or an equivalent level qualification.

We train learners to pass the B1 CEFR qualification for applicants wishing to apply for indefinite leave to remain or British citizenship.  Other qualification we provide include

A1 qualification for SPOUSE VISA.

Our ESOL Courses

We offer combined English Language (ESOL) with Citizenship Classes. All students are assessed by an experienced teacher at the enrolment session. Students are placed on courses after completing initial assessment, if for any reason you are unsure about your level of English our experienced tutors will guide you to the appropriate level.

All students are assessed by an experienced teacher at the enrollment session. We offer combined English Language (ESOL) with Citizenship Classes. These are for those students who have a standard of English below Entry 3.

Entry Requirements

There is no formal entry requirement for this course. You will be asked to bring along identification documents (UK driving license or passport) and one passport-size photograph.

Food Hygiene Course

Food Safety in Catering Level II

This course is for those who want to work where food is prepared, cooked or handled for the consumption of the public and want to work within the food service industry.  By completing Food Safety in Catering Level II, you can satisfy your legal requirement and it will provide you and your employer with proof that you have undertaken the relevant training for your job role.

Here are some examples of people who should take the Level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety Training Course for Catering:-

  • Cooks and chefs
  • Those who serve or handle food for vulnerable people (for example, babies, children, older people and those who are sick) such care and nursery workers
  • Mobile caterers
  • Mobile food vans (burger vans etc.)

Course Duration

  • This course will take 3 hours per day for five days, MondayFriday or
  • You can complete in one full day.

Topics Covered

This Level 2 Food Hygiene for Catering follows the same syllabus as the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, CIEH.

Food Hygiene Regulations require operatives to train food handlers on Food Hygiene & Safety Principles. Therefore, this course’s content covers all of the core elements of Food Hygiene & Safety. The course covers the following areas:-

  • The penalties for poor Food Hygiene

A+ Computer Technician

This course is an entry-level computer qualification for those who want to work as a Technical Support Engineer, Field Service Technician, PC Maintenance Engineer, IT Support Officer, 1st Support Technician or a PC repair service technician. At the end of the course, you will gain the skills needed for computer service professionals at entry-level in installing, maintaining, customising, and operating personal computers.

This course is an ideal starting point for a career in IT as it covers the maintenance of PCs, laptops, operating systems and printers to prove your competence in areas such as installation, preventative maintenance, security and troubleshooting to employers within the IT industry.
